From Manchester, England, to the sun-soaked shores of Perth, Western Australia, Tasha Mitchell is a dynamic contemporary artist whose work is characterised by authenticity and unwavering integrity.

Tasha has already garnered international recognition, with her former YouTube channel amassing an impressive 24,000 views and her SoundCloud cover of Birdy's 'Keeping Your Head Up' receiving nearly 70,000 streams. Birdy herself stands as one of Tasha's musical influences, a testament to her ability to draw inspiration from the best.

Tasha's artistic journey took a remarkable turn when she collaborated with Japanese artist Kaito Wakabayashi in 2017-2018, co-creating singles 'Feeling Fine' and 'Remember Me.' Today, she stands on the cusp of an exciting chapter as she prepares to unveil her independent debut EP, 'Finding Light.' Comprising four enchanting tracks, 'Finding Light' beautifully captures the essence of longing and hope through its sweet melodies and captivating instrumentation. Drawing parallels to the works of artists such as Gabrielle Aplin, Adele, and Birdy, this EP seamlessly blends soulful piano ballads with intricate band arrangements, offering a poignant glimpse into the depths of human emotion. The release is further complemented by a visually stunning video graphic series, ensuring a multisensory experience for her audience. 'Finding Light' is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Tasha's songwriting journey commenced at the tender age of 11, and she harnessed her instrumental prowess as a means to explore and nurture her lyrical talents. Her dedication to her craft led her to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), an institution that has nurtured talents like Tim Minchin and Meg Mac. In a testament to her exceptional abilities, Tasha was awarded the inaugural Haselhurst Contemporary Vocalist Scholarship during her final year of study.

In her own words, Tasha reflects, "I write as a form of self-therapy; I write to express myself, to process, and to reflect. In my lyrics, some messages are direct, while others are cloaked in double entendre. My music provides a safe haven where one can immerse themselves and lose track of time. My songs are now as much yours as they are mine."
